Hello hello friends!
This week for my “WIAW” post I decided to switch it up a little bit and show you a day of eats on the weekend! My meals/snacks are usually a little different on the weekends since I usually sleep in later/stay up later!
Here are my meals/snacks from this past Saturday! I was celebrating my birthday with mom all day since I am working out of town on the actual day of my birthday.
I always try to keep my Saturday mornings free. It is the one day during the week where I like to spend an hour drinking my coffee and snuggling with my babe on the couch. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am obsessed with blending a little bit of chocolate protein powder in my coffee right now. It makes it taste like a mocha and it doesn’t rot your stomach (like drinking black coffee on an empty stomach normally does!)
After enjoying my coffee, I whipped up some of my sweet potato porridge with all my favourite toppings. As you can tell, I am a BIG breakfast eater! I always wake up with a big appetite and I never shy away from feeding it.
After doing some running around, I started to get hungry for a snack around 11, but since I knew I was going out to lunch with my mom, I just enjoyed some kombucha! This is seriously my favourite drinks & there are soooo many benefits of incorporating it into your diet!
For lunch, we went to the Root Cellar in London and had the best lunch ever! This place uses only local high quality products, all of their meats are hormone free, and everything is made from scratch! Can you say heaven!? We couldn’t get over how GOOD everything tasted compared to other places.
I enjoyed the buffalo burger on a bed of greens and then shared my boyfriends toast & homefries (again seriously the best toast & home fries I’ve ever had).
By the time I got home from lunch and spending time with my mom, it was dinner time. After seeing my mom & boyfriend having brunch at lunch, I was craving a good egg sandwich. I had a whole wheat bun toasted with egg, egg whites, mashed avocado and then some veggies on the side.
After dinner, I headed to watch my boyfriend’s hockey tournament and luckily, I had a protein bar in my purse because I started to get hungry during the game. I had a couple bites of the bar and then put the rest back in my purse for next time 😉
